Beyond Protective Services LLC (doing business as "Beyond Protective Services," "BPS," "we," "us") provides private security services and the software (this website and our desktop and mobile applications) that supports them. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to website visitors, client organizations, the security personnel we employ, and the individuals our clients protect. Please also read our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.
Website visitors & leads. When you submit a contact, quote, or pricing request we collect your name, email, phone number, company, and the details you provide.
Account holders. Name, email, phone, role, and login credentials (passwords are hashed by our authentication provider; we never see them).
Security personnel (guards/officers). To run scheduling, timekeeping, payroll, and compliance we collect employment information including legal name, date of birth, home address, Social Security Number, driver's license number, guard-card/license and certification details, hire date, and pay rate. During shifts the app collects precise GPS location while a guard is clocked in / on an active shift only, never off duty, clock-in selfies, and checkpoint/incident photos.
Photos and biometrics. Clock-in selfies and checkpoint/incident photos are stored as ordinary images to verify presence and document events; we do not run facial recognition on them and do not create, collect, or store any faceprint, face geometry, or other biometric identifier from them. Our mobile app can use Face ID / biometrics for sign-in, this is performed entirely on your device by the operating system, which returns only a pass/fail; we never receive, transmit, or store biometric data.
Payment information. Billing is processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
Technical & usage data. Device, log, crash-diagnostic, and usage information needed to operate and secure the service.
Some of what we collect is treated as "sensitive" under laws such as the California Privacy Rights Act: Social Security Number, driver's license number, and precise geolocation (collected only from on duty guards). We use this sensitive information solely for the business purposes it was collected for, payroll and tax reporting, licensing and compliance, and guard scheduling, dispatch, and safety. We do not use or disclose it to infer characteristics about you, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising. Because we limit its use to these permitted purposes, no "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" action is required; if that ever changes, we will provide the choice.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
Personal data is encrypted in transit (TLS). Sensitive identifiers such as Social Security Numbers are encrypted at the field level at rest (only the last four digits are stored in readable form), and access to the full value is restricted to authorized personnel, performed through controlled functions, and logged. We enforce row-level, organization-scoped access controls so one organization cannot access another's data, and we apply role-based permissions to sensitive HR information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.
If a breach affects the security of your personal information, we will investigate promptly and notify affected individuals and applicable regulators as required by law, without unreasonable delay.
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected and to meet legal obligations, using these general guidelines:
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@beyondprotectiveservices.com. To protect your data, we will verify your identity before acting on a request; you may use an authorized agent with written proof of authorization. We will acknowledge and respond within the timeframes required by law (for California requests, generally within 45 days, extendable once when reasonably necessary).
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, and correct your information, to limit the use of sensitive personal information (see Section 2), and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so no "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" action is required; if that ever changes, we will provide an opt-out.
Do Not Track: we do not track you across third-party websites and do not permit third parties to collect personal information about your activity across sites through our service, so we do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
EU/UK residents (GDPR), if applicable: our legal bases are performance of a contract, our legitimate interests in operating a security business, your consent (where requested), and compliance with legal obligations. You may also withdraw consent, request portability, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our accounts and apps are intended for users 18 and older, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors through them. Incident documentation captured at a guarded site may incidentally include images of individuals of any age; such footage is used only to document and respond to security incidents and is retained only as long as needed for that purpose.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
